Are you passionate about pushing the boundaries of aluminum technology? Hydro Aluminium Metal (AM) Research and Technology Development Laboratories is on the lookout for a dynamic Laboratory Engineer/Analysis Expert to be a crucial part of our cutting-edge laboratory in Sunndal, Norway.
Your Mission: As a Laboratory Engineer, you'll play a vital role in Hydro's mission to develop and commercialize innovative and low-carbon aluminium products, including Hydro REDUXA and Hydro CIRCAL.
Your responsibilities will include:
SEM Expertise: Take the lead in Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) analysis for R&D projects and technical customer support requests, interpreting results and producing comprehensive scientific reports.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to other SEM users, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
Equipment Management: Maintain and enhance the SEM equipment, collaborating with suppliers for maintenance and repairs.
Analysis Method Development: Drive the development of existing and new analysis methods, contributing to the advancement of aluminium casting technologies.
HSE and Continuous Improvement: Prioritize health, safety, and environmental practices while actively engaging in continuous improvement activities.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
MSc/BSc degree in Physics, Materials Science/Metallurgy, Chemistry, or equivalent.
Experience in Scanning Electron Microscopy and/or advanced analysis equipment.
Competent in HSE principles and chemical handling.
Strong language skills in Norwegian and English.
