A position as researcher (position code 1109) of 24 months duration is available in the research group led by Professor Johanna Olweus, Institute for Cancer Research, Institute of Clinical Medicine, University of Oslo. The group is located at the Institute for Cancer Research, Norwegian Radium Hospital, Oslo University Hospital.

The organization and research focus

The position is part of a project funded by the Norwegian Cancer Society, entitled “Precision Immunotherapy for Bladder Cancer”. The aim of this project is to improve treatment of bladder cancer through development of potential immunological therapies.

More about the position

The person will be responsible for early-phase development of retroviral transduction from the research laboratory to a pre-GMP protocol.

This includes collaborating with a commercial supplier of viruses and partners in Uppsala to find the optimal gene construct and virus particle, as well as optimal conditions for up-scaled virus transduction, write SOPs and test candidate molecules (T cell receptors) for efficacy and safety in vitro.

Qualification requirements

• Applicants must hold a degree equivalent to a Norwegian PhD in immunology
• Molecular biological competence for construction of gene constructs and identification of T cell receptor sequences
• Competence in culturing primary T cells, cloning of T cells
• Knowledge on use of multicolor flow cytometry and cell sorting
• Knowledge on retroviral transduction.
• Good organizational skills
• Basic knowledge of statistics
• Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English

Personal skills

The candidate should be highly motivated and dedicated, and should have strong collaboration skills.
