The Faculty of Medicine was established in 1814 and is the oldest medical faculty in Norway. The Faculty is organized into three basic units and has approximately 1,500 employees and about 2000 students.
Scientia Fellows is a transnational fellowship programme (2019-2024) in the field of Health Life Sciences. In addition to focus on excellent research, the programme supports innovation activities and strives to bring together academia, hospital and industry in cross-sectoral collaborations. Through this programme, researchers can enhance their career, improve networking and develop new transferable skills.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 801133.
Scientia Fellows II - Call 3 - Marie Sklodowska-Curie postdoctoral fellowships in Health Life Sciences - 38 positions
SCIENTIA FELLOWS is a research fellowship programme in the field of Health Life Sciences launched and managed by the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Oslo. It is supported and partly funded by the EU Horizon 2020 under the Maria Skłodowska-Curie scheme – Co-funding of Regional, National and International Programmes (COFUND).
With this Call we are inviting talented experienced researchers to apply for one of the 38 fellowship positions at UiO or other partner organisations.

- Starting salary NOK 526 000 per annum depending on qualifications in position as Postdoctoral Research Fellow (position code 1352) or Researcher (position code 1109/1108). Types of fellowships
• Incoming – for postdoctoral researchers from all over the world (who have not resided or carried out their main activity in Norway for more than 12 months in the last 3 years immediately prior to Call deadline 11.05) willing to conduct their research work at the University of Oslo (duration: 12-36 months).
• Outgoing – for postdoctoral researchers from all over the world, who apply to work as a seconded/visiting researcher in a host organisation outside Norway (provided that they have not resided or carried out their main activity in the country of the host organisation for more than 12 months in the last 3 years immediately prior to Call deadline 11.05) and to continue with a second phase at the University of Oslo (duration: 12-24 months + 12 months).
Researchers from all countries are eligible for the programme. They must be fluent in English (both written and spoken) and:
• Have a PhD degree OR have at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience since obtaining a university diploma. (This experience needs to be documented). In the latter case, the research experience must give access to doctoral studies in the country in which your degree or diploma was obtained, or in the country in which the research training is provided irrespective whether or not a doctorate was envisaged.
• Comply with the mobility requirements that depend on the chosen fellowship scheme.
In both fellowship types, in order to be eligible a researcher must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the host organisation for more than 12 months in the last 3 years immediately prior to the Call deadline.
There are 32 broad thematic areas to choose from offered in Call 3.

No one can be appointed for more than one Postdoctoral Fellow period at the University of Oslo.
Candidates who have previously been employed as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Oslo may be offered employment as a researcher (SKO 1109), if they are otherwise eligible. Candidates without a PhD, but who are otherwise eligible, may be offered employment as researcher (SKO 1108).
According to the Norwegian Freedom and Information Act (Offentleglova) information about the applicant may be included in the public applicant list, also in cases where the applicant has requested non-disclosure.
