Simula Consulting, a new daughter company of Simula Research Laboratory, delivers high-quality consulting services in key ICT areas to public and private organisations on a commercial basis. The mission of the company is to redefine what’s possible through digitalisation, bridging the gap between academic discoveries and real-world applications.

Simula Consulting is expanding its team with an expert in data engineering and an expert in data science / machine learning, in permanent positions. As a new member, you will be involved in exciting and challenging projects in different domains ranging from smart cities to healthcare and medtech. You will be involved in development of concepts and solutions, as well as working hands-on building a robust and efficient technology.

Call for Data Engineer and Data Scientist at Simula Consulting

What you will do

  • Participate in various IT projects with external customers and internally: understand a problem and gather requirements, decide on buy-vs-build solution, contribute to architecture, methods, and technology choice.
  • Develop and implement digital products/technology in a team.
  • Provide an advice on a specific technology / digitalisation strategy: perform a technical due diligence, prepare a technical / quality assurance report.

We look for data engineers who

  • have a solid background in data engineering, incl. data engineering best practices, databases, APIs, DevOps.
  • have hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code.
  • are committed to writing clean, scalable and high quality code that is easy to maintain.
  • can work independently and take ownership of tasks from start to finish, while also enjoying team-work.
  • actively strives to learn new things and share knowledge with others.
  • fluent in English. Ability to speak and write in Norwegian is a plus.

We look for data scientists who

  • have hands-on experience and a good understanding of machine learning, optimisation, and statistical learning theory concepts.
  • have strong programming skills, ideally with Python, C++.
  • have hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, Pytorch, etc.
  • have working and conceptual knowledge of databases.
  • like experimentation and testing, and is good at communicating analytical findings.
  • fluent in English. Ability to speak and write in Norwegian is a plus.
