Job description

Applications are invited for a 3 year position as Postdoctoral Fellow in Molecular Medicine to be based at the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, Department of Molecular Medicine, University of Oslo.

The position is associated with the research group of Professor Anne Simonsen on the project “Lipid-binding proteins in autophagy – molecular mechanisms and links to disease”. The project is financed by The Research Council of Norway.

More about the position

The postdoc will take part in a project aimed at elucidation of the molecular mechanisms underlying the interconnections between lipids and lipid-binding proteins in autophagy and their links to disease. More specifically, the postdoc project will focus on the in vivo functions of lipid-binding proteins found to be involved in regulation and execution of autophagy, using zebrafish as a model organism. Previous experience with research within the autophagy field and with zebrafish work will be considered a great advantage.

We are looking for highly motivated individuals with the personal prerequisites to carry out the project within the given timeframe. The main purpose of post-doctoral research fellowships is to qualify researchers for work in higher academic positions within their discipline.

Qualification requirements
