International Research Adviser for Norwegian Social Research, NOVA

Norwegian Social Research at OsloMet – Oslo Metropolitan University invites applicants for a 6 months’ temporary position as International Research Adviser.

The research adviser will be a part of an ongoing strategic focus with increased demands on external research funding and building research consortia both locally and internationally. The main tasks of the position are research administration and expert help and support to our researchers on external funding. The successful candidate will work with the whole spectrum within Horizon 2020 in addition to calls within other research and innovation programmes, will be involved in the whole lifecycle of the research project and work closely with the Senior Adviser of Internationalisation at NOVA.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Guide and support researchers through the application process for external funding, budgeting, finding partners, building consortia and contract negotiations
  • Contribute to professionalize the support to researchers and project work
  • Knowledge and information transfer through various channels, as workshops, seminars, web pages
  • Other ad hoc tasks

Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field of study
  • Working language proficiency in English and Norwegian

Desired skills

  • Experience from international collaborative research and education
  • Experience from research administration and project development
  • Competence within the EU’s research and innovation programmes
  • Experience with the application processes of the EU-system
  • Ability to understand EU calls and transfer the information
  • Knowledge about and experience from cooperation with different stakeholders at national and European level

The successful candidate should have the ability to work with an international team and capacity to establish and coordinate transnational networks (involving stakeholders) and research groups. He/she has the ability to work efficiently and independent in a deadline-dependent environment, is open-minded and has very good social communication skills. Some travel may be required.
