PhD Research Fellow in Macroeconomics and Inequality

Deadline: 27.02.2020

Applications are invited for a 4-year PhD position at the Research Department of Statistics Norway.

The position is part of a project funded by a European Research Council Starting Grant, titled “3D-In-Macro”. The project aims to study causes and consequences of household inequality in income, wealth and consumption. Particular emphasis is given to the macroeconomic implications of household heterogeneity. The project team, led by Principal Investigator Andreas Fagereng, consists of researchers in the macroeconomic research unit at Statistics Norway and scholars at BI Norwegian Business School and the University of Oslo, together with scholars at leading international institutions such as Stanford University and London School of Economics. In total, the team consists of approximately 10 individuals. During the fellowship the candidate will have the opportunity to spend 1 or 2 semesters at an academic institution abroad. The successful candidate will follow the PhD program in Economics and Finance at BI Norwegian Business School (or equivalent), and thereby obtain a PhD degree. As part of the project team on 3D-In-Macro, he/she will be expected to participate in sub-projects lead by senior researchers and to develop his/her own research agenda within relevant fields.
