Research assistant
There is a vacancy for a research assistant at the System Dynamics Group, Department of Geography, University of Bergen. The position is fulltime for a fixed-term period of 18 months. Total employment as a research assistant cannot exceed two years.
Research assistant is a recruitment position where the main task is to be a supporting entity to the academic staff in their instructional and research endeavors. The position will provide the opportunity to gain insight into scientific work and methodology.
Job description:
Independent work in the NFR-funded project MatMakt.
Design, facilitation, evaluation and analysis of group model building workshops inNorway.
Interviews with stakeholders in Norwegian food supply chains.
Development, analysis and communication of system dynamics models in Norwegianfood supply chains.
General support of the System Dynamics Group in terms of teaching (e.g., throughteaching assistance) and research, e.g. through grant proposal writing.
Qualifications and personal qualities:
Requirements
The applicant must hold a master’s degree in System Dynamics. The master’s degree must have been completed by the application deadline.
Applicants must have experience with teaching assistance in System Dynamics.
Applicants must have experience with online and in-person group model building in Norway and abroad.
Applicants must have experience with sustainability transitions, preferably in research settings.
Proficiency in both written and oral English.
Proficiency in oral Norwegian.
Good administrative and IT-competence.
Personal characteristics
Result oriented and ability to work systematically.
Good cooperation and communication skills.
