The Faculty of Dentistry is one of the leading odontological research and educational institutions in Europe. The faculty's research groups contribute top research within several odontological fields.

In addition to educating dentists and dental hygienists, the Faculty has Ph.D program and professional-oriented specialist education. The Faculty holds significant competence in the various research and clinical disciplines, with good interdisciplinary collaboration. It is a modern faculty with approximately 420 students and approximately 420 employees. The faculty is also Norway's largest dental clinic with approximately 55,000 patient visits a year. The Faculty of Dentistry has two departments: Institute of Clinical Dentistry and Department of Oral Biology.

The engagement is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning State Employees and Civil Servants, and the acts relating to Control of the Export of Strategic Goods, Services and Technology. 

About the position 

A temporary position as an Adviser is available at the Institute of Oral Biology Biofilm2 in an externally funded RESISFORCE project. 

The project is a Norway–India–Brazil–Canada–USA partnership led by Prof. Fernanda Petersen at University of Oslo to advance world‑class education and research in biofilm and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Together with partners (e.g., UNICAMP, McGill, UIC, Forsyth Institute, OHSU, TCS), we:

  • Enable international mobility for students and staff
  • Run hybrid symposia and hands‑on workshops
  • Develop virtual -enhaced tools and MOOC‑based learning
  • Build a global, interdisciplinary network focused on big‑data AMR science

Your areas of responsibility will be

  • Coordinate research–education activities across partners (mobility, symposia/workshops, virtual reality/MOOC design and delivery, dissemination).
  • Drive international networking: match projects and mentors; curate engaging programs alongside major AMR meetings; foster an inclusive, global community.
  • Coordinate virtual reality‑enabled and MOOC learning: align outcomes, interactive tasks, and assessments.
  • Support web‑based platforms for training and outreach; help present tools, datasets, and results to scientific, clinical, policy, and public audiences.
  • Contribute to and coordinate multi‑partner applications to external funds (e.g., Horizon Europe/ERC, RCN, EU-OneHealth AMR, CAPES, ICMR) by convening inputs, drafting sections, and aligning work plans and timelines.

Qualifications 

You must have 

  • Master’s degree or higher; PhD preferred in life/health sciences.
  • Experience coordinating international activities in research/education settings and collaborating across cultures.
  • Practical skills that support the consortium:
    • Developing/maintaining interactive web‑based platforms for research and training
    • Designing/automating HPC workflows 
    • Course development and digital education (online modules/MOOCs) 
  • Documented record of teaching, student supervision, and international collaboration.
  • Strong written and oral communication in English; proficiency with collaboration tools (Teams/Zoom, MS/Google).

You should have

  • Experience organizing international workshops/symposia and hybrid events.
  • Commitment to open science, research dissemination, and capacity building 

Personal skills 

  • Passion for AMR and global health; proactive and impact‑driven.
  • Excellent collaborator and facilitator across disciplines and cultures.
  • Organized, analytical, and quality‑focused; clear documentation habits; inclusive mindset.

  • Salary in position as an Adviser, position code 1434 in salary range NOK from 650 000 - 750 000, depending on competence and experience. From the salary, 2 percent is deducted in statutory contributions to the State Pension Fund.

     

  • Start date: as soon as possible. This is a full‑time position for a duration of 11 months.
