The Institute of Clinical Medicine (Klinmed) is one of three institutes under the Faculty. Klinmed is responsible for the Faculty's educational and research activities at Oslo University Hospital and Akershus University Hospital. With about 900 employees spread over approximately 425 man-labour years, Klinmed is the university's largest institute. Our activities follow the clinical activity at the hospitals and are spread across a number of geographical areas.
About the position
The position is part of the Department of Adult Psychiatry, the largest university department in the Division of Mental Health and Addiction. The Department covers research and education in broad areas including anxiety, depression, and other affective disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, eating disorders, geriatric psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, transcultural psychiatry and trauma-related disorders, in addition to psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. It is desirable that the applicant has a research and clinical background to strengthen research and education in two or more of these areas. The applicant must also have sufficient clinical experience in adult psychiatry to be able to teach medical students.

Duties of the position
Lead and initiate research and apply for external funding
Supervise researchers
Participate in teaching students and research fellows including clinical teaching in small groups
Undertake duties in connection with examinations
Administrative tasks as required by the prevailing regulations and needs of the Division, such as participation in adjudication committees for PhD theses evaluation, assessment committees regarding appointments in vacant academic positions, and to take the role as acting dean in disputations
Qualifications and competence for Professor/ Associate Professor:
Significant contributions to research at the highest level, in accordance with international or national standards within the field.
A significant body of scientific work beyond the requirements for a PhD is necessary. The research should be of high quality, demonstrating both breadth and depth. The research production should reflect an independent research profile and show the ability to address new issues. Continuous research activity is a prerequisite for the award of professorial competence.
Documented qualifications beyond the regular performance of duties in a lower-level position, either in the application of knowledge or academic leadership and administration.
A broad range of skills in planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching.
Extensive experience in supervision, preferably at the master's/Ph.D. level.
Basic university pedagogical competence according to UiO's guidelines. Applicants who cannot document basic university pedagogical competence at the time of employment must acquire this within two years of employment.
Proficiency in written and spoken Norwegian/Scandinavian language and English is a prerequisite for performing all the duties of the position. Applicants who cannot document Norwegian language skills at the B2 level (or another Scandinavian language) must be able to do so within 3 years of employment.
Applicants must hold an MD and have sufficient clinical experience in psychiatry to teach medical students within this field of medicine

Salary in the position as Professor, position code 1013 in salary range NOK from 930 000 to 1 200 000, depending on competence and experience. For the position of Associate Professor, position code 1011 in salary range NOK from 820 000 to 950 000. From the salary, 2 percent is deducted in statutory contributions to the State Pension Fund
