The Institute of Clinical Medicine (Klinmed) is one of three institutes under the Faculty. Klinmed is responsible for the Faculty's educational and research activities at Oslo University Hospital and Akershus University Hospital. With about 900 employees spread over approximately 425 man-labour years, Klinmed is the university's largest institute. Our activities follow the clinical activity at the hospitals and are spread across a number of geographical areas.
About the position
For a clinical researcher with a primary position at the Department of Oncology, Oslo University Hospital. There is now a vacant 20 % position as Researcher (SKO1109) at The Institute of Clinical Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo (UiO). The position is placed at the European Palliative Care Research Centre (PRC), the Cancer Association’s centre for Patient-Centred Care.
We are looking for an experienced researcher who can contribute to strengthening our expertise and capacity in research and external communication. We are particularly seeking someone with experience in leading application processes and supervision in palliative care, nationally and internationally.
PRC is organized within the Department of Oncology (AKB) and the Institute of Clinical Medicine at UiO. PRC has a large national and international interdisciplinary network with outstanding researchers from many countries in Europe, Canada, and Australia. Together, we work to ensure that patients and their families receive the best possible knowledge-based care locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.
PRC has the following prioritized research areas: nutrition/cachexia, pain, quality of life, health services research, and end-of-life research. The centre is currently conducting several large international multi-centre studies. PRC is also in the leading role in several EU financed projects. For all areas, research-based strategies are being developed for implementing research findings into clinical practice.
More about the position
A 20% position as researcher is immediately available at the Institute of Clinical Medicine. The researcher will be part of the research group at PRC, consisting of 5 senior researchers along with 2 professors in palliative care at AKB. We are looking for someone who can contribute within several of PRC's thematic areas by joining ongoing research projects, assisting in the development of new projects and applying for external funding for these. The part-time position has funding for 1 year and eligible applicants must already possess a full-time position at AKB.

Work tasks will include
Lead research within several of PRC's prioritized research areas.
Responsible for writing grant applications and organizing application processes in PRC.
Contribute to PRC's network activities regionally, nationally, and internationally, including organizing PRC's annual international research seminar.
Supervise PhD- and postdoc-candidates nationally and internationally.
Teaching other healthcare professions.
Collaborate with external PRC partners.
Collaborate with clinicians and other clinical research areas in AKB.
Communicate research findings.
Requirements
Qualification requirements
Must have completed a PhD and documented research experience at the academic intermediate level or higher.
A healthcare background relevant to palliative research and education.
Experience with research in the health services.
Broad experience with writing grant applications.
Ability to write scientific articles independently.
Experience with international research collaboration in palliative care.
Eligible applicants must already possess a full-time position at AKB
Teaching experience in palliative care research.
Good skills in active cooperation, dialogue, and communication internally and with other specialist environments.
Proficiency in Norwegian and English, both spoken and written.
Motivation to work with analysis and publications from various studies.
Personal qualities
Good communication- and collaboration skills in an interdisciplinary research environment.
Ability to work independently and in teams.

Salary in position as Researcher, position code 1109 in salary range NOK 720 000 - NOK 800 000, depending on competence and experience. From the salary, 2 percent is deducted in statutory contributions to the State Pension Fund.
