The Institute of Clinical Medicine (Klinmed) is one of three institutes under the Faculty. Klinmed is responsible for the Faculty's educational and research activities at Oslo University Hospital and Akershus University Hospital. With about 800 employees spread over approximately 425 man-labour years, Klinmed is the university's largest institute. Our activities follow the clinical activity at the hospitals and are spread across a number of geographical areas.

About the position 

A 10 % position as Senior Engineer (SKO 1181) in pharmacokinetics is available at Department of Neurosurgery, Division of Clinical Neuroscience, Institute of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo.

The research is anchored in the K.G. Jebsen Center for Brain Fluid Research, led by Professor Per Kristian Eide. The center has funding for 5 years; the end date being 19 September 2029.

The work of this research project will be carried out in close partnership with a diverse team that spans multiple disciplines, emphasizing the need for strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Job description and work tasks 

The senior engineer is expected to take active part in the research cooperation within the group and to co-supervise PhD- and master students. The engineer will be supported in acquiring qualifications, promoting current and future work in higher academic positions within the relevant disciplines.

The objective of the project is research activity associated with the defined objectives of the center, the major work assignments being:

  • Pharmacokinetic modeling of human fluid samples. 

In addition, the engineer will be encouraged to present research regularly both in the department and at international scientific conferences.

The position is grant-funded up to 5 years. 

Qualification requirements

  • PhD in Pharmacy.
  • Documented experience in pharmacokinetic modeling.
  • Experience in pharmacokinetic modeling of human CSF to blood clearance.
