Research scientist / senior scientist batteries

Would you like to play a key role in establishing a European Li-ion battery Gigafactory? It is happening right now, and it is happening in Norway!
The New Energy Solutions team at SINTEF is seeking to strengthen our battery R&D group with the appointment of experienced team members who can liaise with, and provide expert advice to, the growing Norwegian battery manufacturing industries and their end-users. The successful candidate will play a critical part in the successful establishment of a new and internationally significant industry in the Nordic sector. The position can be based either in Trondheim or in Mo i Rana, depending on project portfolio/ preference. In both cases, some travel should be expected.

About you:
You will have:
§ A 5+ year track record in the Li-ion battery industry, including experience in manufacturing and scale-up from lab- to pilot- to production- scale, preferably with a PhD in a relevant area
§ An in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Li-ion battery market, business opportunities, and the major battery stakeholders
§ A solid fundamental understanding of Li-ion battery materials, cell design, and electrochemistry
§ Knowledge of, and experience with, battery component selection, testing and validation, including the HSE issues relating to materials and manufacturing
§ The ability to communicate well in English, both oral and written
§ Strong network building skills
It is additionally desirable that you have:
§ A good grasp of a Scandinavian language, both written and oral
§ Experience in project management
§ Experience working in teams, in both leadership and contributive roles
