  • Conduct cutting-edge research in the field of Computational Science and Engineering.
  • Develop and implement physics-based models for simulating real-world phenomena.
  • Utilize finite element and finite volume methods to solve complex PDEs.
  • Investigate and apply accelerated computing techniques, such as reduced order modeling and reduced basis methods, to optimize simulations.
  • Explore machine learning algorithms and data-driven approaches for improving computational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address interdisciplinary research challenges.
  • Publish research findings in reputable journals and present at conferences.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior researchers and interns.

Your qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Computational Science, Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong background in physics-based modelling and numerical methods, with expertise in solving PDEs using finite element or finite volume methods.
  • Proficiency in accelerated computing techniques, including reduced order modelling, reduced basis methods, and machine learning.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB and/or C/C++.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and drive projects to completion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • A collaborative and team-oriented mindset.

We offer:

  • A position in one of Europe's leading research institutions, with considerable impact on society.
  • The opportunity to develop yourself professionally and personally in a recognized and competent research environment. This also include the possibility to combine research with PhD studies or Postdoc work.
  • A supportive and innovative work environment.
  • Access to state-of-the-art computing resources.
  • Engagement in cutting-edge research projects with real-world applications.
  • Becoming part of a network of scientists in SINTEF and with our partners
  • A dynamic and flexible working day
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including company pension- and insurance, flexible working hours, and competitive salary
