The SINTEF Brussels office is looking for an intern for the autumn 2019. The call is open to candidates who have recently graduated with an MA in European Studies from NTNU in the spring of 2019.

As an intern in the SINTEF Brussels office, you will gain experience through working with the SINTEF Brussels office staff in assisting SINTEF to promote participation in EU funded research initiatives and support the activities of SINTEF in the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA). SINTEF has a strong commitment to EERA through the secretariat functions undertaken (in a consortium with other research institutes in Europe) and the chairmanship of the Alliance.

Part of the work can also be together with the EERA secretariat which is located close to our offices and which also has interns. The same applies for the NTNU office which is co-located at the Norwegian House of Research & Innovation with SINTEF, The University of Bergen and NORCE. Activities that you could expect to encounter include:

§ work related to future Framework Programme monitoring and other relevant EU initiatives

§ participation to relevant meetings with proper Reporting

§ participation to working groups meetings of relevant networks where the office is part and

§ support in organization of SINTEF and EERA events in Brussels

§ support the work of SINTEF staff members in the EERA working groups (policy, strategy andcommunication)

A specific task, that typically involves researching on a particular topic, will be assigned at the initiation of the internship. The intern is expected to work independently, under the guidance of a staff member when needed. As the intern will be part of the normal working routine of the office, further activities could occur “on the spot” during his/her assignment to the office’s staff.

Duration of the internship The proposed duration of the internship is September - December 2019.

Stipend The SINTEF Brussels office grants a stipend of €1000 per month. As an intern with the SINTEF Brussels office, you may also be eligible for an Erasmus Placement (Recent Graduate) grant, currently €510 per month.
