BI Norwegian Business School invites applicants for a fixed term four-year Postdoctoral Fellowship in any of its core management and business fields, including marketing, strategy, communication, organizational behavior, law, accounting, economics and finance. The postdoctoral fellow will work with teams of researchers at the relevant academic department where the successful candidate will be hired.

The position

BI Norwegian Business School now has vacant Postdoctoral Fellowship positions with duration of four years. The postdoctoral fellow will work with teams of researchers at the relevant academic department where the successful candidate will be hired. The objective of the position is to strengthen research, and to give researchers/scholars holding a doctoral degree the opportunity for experience within academic fields that is relevant for future qualifications.

In compliance with BI’s ambition of becoming one of the leading business schools in Europe, we seek a candidate who can produce high-level research and publications at the international levels.

Qualification requirements

Applicants must hold a PhD degree in relevant fields for BI Norwegian Business School, such as marketing, strategy, communication, organizational behaviour, law, accounting, economics and finance. The doctoral thesis must be submitted for evaluation by the closing date for applications and the dissertation must approved by, on entering the contract. The candidates will be evaluated based on an overall assessment of skills, knowledge and suitability for the position.

In the assessment the following criteria will be emphasised:

  • submitted scientific work
  • international experience and network
  • good teamwork, communication skills and ability to participate in research communities across organisational units.
  • personal skills and motivation for the position

We are looking for candidates with strong research capabilities and ambitions to advance their field with publications in leading international journals. Teaching responsibilities on agreement.

We offer

The position offers membership of the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund (SPK).

Salary on agreement. The School also has a bonus-system for publications in selected journals.

Application and documentation

Applicants have to submit their job-market paper, a resume and work-in-progress abstracts, which reflect their area of research interest. In addition, applicants should submit an updated CV (including a complete list of publications, doctoral courses taken with grades, and preferably teaching evaluations). Two reference letters must also be submitted.

Evaluation

The relevant Department Council will evaluate the project proposal and their recommendation will be sent to the Provost for research and academic resources, for a final decision. Applicants may be called for an interview or seminar presentation. The position will only be filled if qualified candidates are identified.

Start date is subject to agreement but no later than December 21st 2020.
