Assistant professor within all areas of Accounting

At BI Norwegian Business School, we have an opening for a seven-year tenured position as assistant professor within all areas of Accounting at the Department of Accounting, Auditing and Business Analytics.

We are looking for candidates with strong analytical research capabilities in any area of Accounting, with potential to published articles in journals that are included in the Financial Times list or that are rated as 4* or 4 within the subject area of Accounting in the ABS list. Successful candidates will join and strengthen an active and ambitious research group focusing on auditing, corporate governance, and financial accounting.

The successful applicant must hold a doctoral degree when entering the contract. The doctoral degree cannot be older than 5 years. We welcome applicants to submit a short profile document, which reflects their research area. In addition to the research tasks, the successful applicant is also expected to perform some pedagogical activities (teaching, grading, evaluation and tutoring).There will be agreed up on a pre-set requirements in order to enter a permanent position. There will be a mid-way evaluation. Appointment from a tenure track to a permanent position may only occur on the ground of a positive final assessment. This assessment must comprise of two parts: a) an appointed external assessment committee, which will assess the academic qualifications b) an evaluation carried out by the Department Council, which must contain an overall assessment of the evaluated applicant’s pedagogical qualifications and other requirements agreed up on.

Salary and other benefits on agreement. The position offers membership of the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund. Candidates will get assistance on immigration from our relocation partner.

The Department Council will perform the evaluation of the candidates. The evaluation will be based on the quality of previous research, potential for future research, and teaching qualities. Applicants will be called for an interview, trial lecture, or seminar presentation. The position will only be filled if qualified candidates are identified.
