The Institute of Clinical Medicine has a vacant position as Adjunct Professor (professor II)/Associate Professor (førsteamanuensis) of Radiology. The part-time academic position (20 %) is combined with a full-time (100 %) senior consultant position at Akershus University Hospital, Department of Diagnostic Imagin (BDA).

A permanent full-time position as Senior Consultant is available at Department of Diagnostic Imaging, Akershus University Hospital. The position is affiliated with a part time position as Adjunct Professor (SKO 9301)/Associate Professor (SKO 1011) (20 % position) in Medicine (Radiology). It is required that the position holder attends to both positions.

Regarding the full-time clinical position at Akershus University Hospital:

Akershus University Hospital (Ahus) currently provides health services to 500,000 people. The Department of Diagnostic Imaging at Ahus is equipped with up-to-date imaging modalities, including MRI, CT, Mammography, Ultrasound, X-ray and SPECT-CT. A PET-CT will be operational from 2019/2020 and mechanical thrombectomy for acute stroke is planned to be started from 2019.The Department is approved for the whole period of Radiology trainee program. The Radiology Section is divided into three subspecialty units including: neuro-MSK, abdominal-pediatrics and thorax. There is in addition an organizational unit for Radiology trainees who rotate between the radiological units during their training program.

The successful applicant have to be specialist in radiology with clinical and research experience within this medical field, and is expected to contribute to collaborative projects and have high ambitions for future research. It is expected that the applicant have the broad clinical experience necessary to teach medical students in the field of radiology.

The clinical part of this position will be attached to one of the radiology units, and the applicant is expected to work as a consultant in radiology.

The broad ongoing research at Ahus involves several fields, including clinical research, population based health research and molecular biology research. The current ongoing research at the Department of Diagnostic Imaging is mainly focused on advanced imaging methods within the field of MRI and CT. The department has several collaborative research projects within different medical fields inside the hospital and nationally. The successful applicant is expected to initiate and perform research projects in collaboration with the local and clinical resources.

40 % of the senior consultant position is expected to be used for research and teaching.

Interpersonal skills and the ability to create an attractive research environment, plans for research and ambitions relating to the applicant's personal teaching practice will be emphasized. As a rule, interviews will be held and references collected. Applicants may also be required to give a trial lecture.
