The Institute of Clinical Medicine (Klinmed) is one of three institutes under the Faculty. Klinmed is responsible for the Faculty's educational and research activities at Oslo University Hospital and Akershus University Hospital. With about 800 employees spread over approximately 425 man-labour years, Klinmed is the university's largest institute. Our activities follow the clinical activity at the hospitals and are spread across a number of geographical areas.

Akershus University Hospital is the largest acute hospital in Norway, and local and area hospital for close to 10% of the Norwegian population. About the position

The Institute of Clinical Medicine has a vacant position as Adjunct Professor/Associate Professor (20 % position) of Medicine, (Anaesthesiology) .

The part-time academic position (20%) is combined with a full-time Senior Consultant position at the Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, Akershus University Hospital. The department serves a population of 577 000 and employs 65 anaestehsiologists/intensivists and 270 nurses. The department is subdivided in units of anaesthesia, postoperative care, intensive care, and a pain clinic. Approximately 30.000 anaesthesia procedures are delivered yearly. The Department currently has active research in the fields of obstetric anaesthesia, cardio-respiratory adaptation in health and disease, effects of anaesthesia on paediatric postoperative pain, and quality aspects of intensive care nursing
