About the position
A fixed-term 100 % position is available at the University of Agder, Faculty of Social Science as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow, for a period of three years. The position will be affiliated with the Department of Information Systems as well as the Center for Integrated Emergency Management (CIEM). The objective of the position is to strengthen research and give scholars holding a doctoral degree the opportunity to gain research experience toward permanent academic positions in the future.
The position is located at Campus Kristiansand. The starting date is negotiable.
The Department of Information Systems offers bachelor´s, master´s and PhD degrees in Information Systems, a master ́s degree in Cybersecurity and an executive master´s degree in Digitalisation. It also contributes to other University of Agder programmes and qualifications. With over 50 research-active staff, the Department is one of Norway’s largest Information Systems research groups.
Responsibilities
Within these three years the candidate is expected to conduct two years of research and one year of teaching within the department.
The research part is mainly linked to the PRIFORSK (Priority Research Centre) funding and EU Horizon Europe project called TOGETHER at CIEM. The postdoctoral fellow will also be central for contributing to the TOGETHER project, which focusing on multi-level and cross-sectoral coordination to build a disaster-resilient society aiming for disaster resilience with three main innovations:
Interoperability Frameworks: Develops five frameworks (legal, organisational, technical, semantic, cross-domain) for FAIR (findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability) data provision.
Multi-tool System (MTS): Utilizes an intelligent AI agent to generate insights from FAIR data for Disaster Risk Management Governance (DRMG).
DRMG Integration: Combines innovative solutions and best practices to improve interactions within existing governance systems.
CIEM will be involved in the tasks related to the conceptual model and problem definition, facilitating multi-level and cross-sectoral stakeholder collaboration, and engagement of citizens and civil societies, implementing the cross-domain interoperability framework and disaster risk assessment toolkit. The candidate may also be involved in the codesign process, co-evaluation of the TOGETHER toolkit and so on.
The candidate will teach at either the bachelor or master level within the department.
The position is remunerated according to the State Salary Scale, salary plan 17.510, code 1352, NOK 680 000 – 710 000 gross salary per year. Higher salary grades may be considered for particularly well-qualified applicants. A compulsory pension contribution to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund is deducted from the pay according to current statutory provisions.
