Targeted approaches will be used to study PPAR pathways specifically in order to assess overlap with cell lines and human cell models.

This will be achieved through the following subgoals: 1) assess the effects of legacy and replacement PFAS exposure on gene expression and possibly DNA methylation; 2) assess the effects of PFAS (legacy and replacement) on gene expression and metabolomics in diabetes cases and controls; 3) explore the overlap of effect pathways between human cell models and human cohorts using ‘omics.
