The Department of Informatics (IFI) is one of nine departments belonging to the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.. IFI is Norway’s largest university department for general education and research in Computer Science and related topics. The Department has near 950 students on bachelor level, near 450 master students, and over 180 PhD students. The overall staff of the Department is close to 250 employees, about 200 of these are full time positions. The full time scientific staff is 60, mostly Full/Associate Professors.

Job description

The adjunct (20% professor) position is available at the Department of Informatics, section for Digitization and Entrepreneurship.

The Digitization and Entrepreneurship is a new section engaging several groups in interdisciplinary research on digitalization, innovation, entrepreneurship and design of technology with a strong focus on sustainability. The section partakes in several study programs Informatics: Design, Use and Interaction (Bachelor and Master), Entrepreneurship (Master), ICT and Management (Executive Master), and Digital Economy and Management (Bachelor).

We are looking for an Adjunct Professor, internationally recognized within the field of Information Systems, who can strengthen our research on digitalization, digital innovation, digital platforms, and related themes. It will be an advantage if the candidate can demonstrate high level of competence in engaged scholarship research, scholarly publications, and an excellent track record of supervising PhD students. We wish to open for a strong research collaboration within the section that can improve its capacity to publish in leading international journals and strengthen the quality of PhD-students’ work.

Qualification requirements

The candidate for this position will be selected based on excellence and fit with the section’s research profile. The successful candidate needs to have the following qualifications:

  • Full professorship in Information Systems
  • Demonstrated recent publishing in leading IS journals
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire research project funding
