Klinmed is responsible for the Faculty's educational and research activities at Oslo University Hospital and Akershus University Hospital. With about 800 employees spread over approximately 425 man-labour years, Klinmed is the university's largest institute.

The position is affiliated with a part time position (20 %) as Adjunct Professor SKO 8013/Associate Professor SKO 1011 in Medicine (Venereology) at the Institute of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo (UiO). It is required that the position holder attends to both positions.Regarding the full-time clinical position at Oslo University Hospital (OUH):

The Department of Rheumatology, Dermatology and Infectious diseases (RHI) represents an organizational and professional collaboration between the specialties rheumatology, dermatology and venereology and clinical immunology/infection. The common denominators are inflammation and autoimmune disorders. The senior consultant will have his/her workplace and daily duties at Olafiaklinikken, which is a part of RHI.

Olafiaklinikken is a specialized centre for diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases at the Oslo University Hospital. The clinic is located in the city center of Oslo. Olafiaklinikken has high focus on sexual health, including sexual health in women who have sex with women and in men who have sex with men. There is also focus on anogenital neoplasia and cancer, related to sexual activity.

Short description of the position’s work tasks

  • The applicant is expected to participate in all part of the routine clinical work at Olafiaklinikken
  • The work tasks allocated to the present position will depend upon the position holder's clinical expertise
  • The position holder is expected to supervise and teach clinical fellows, junior doctors and other members of the staff, and to contribute to increase the general competence and the quality of care.
  • The applicant must be prepared to perform clinical work at all sites within OUH.
  • Qualification requirements – education and relevant personal qualities
  • Specialist accreditation in dermatology and venereology or genito-urinary medicine.
  • Broad clinical experience in venereology, preferably with in-depth experience in one of the department's clinical domains
  • Comprehensive skills in clinical supervision, multi-professional clinical work and clinical quality improvement.
  • Documented language skills in Norwegian (or a compatible Scandinavian language) is required.
  • Certificate of good conduct (if needed)

Personal qualifications

  • The personal qualifications of the applicant, including his/hers collaborative skills, are important.
  • Communication skills at a high level towards patients and their families are important.
