One position as Postdoctoral Research Fellow is atailable at the Institute of Theoretical Astrophysics.

The appointment is a fulltime position and is made for a period of up to three years (10% of which is devoted to required duties, usually in the form of teaching activities).

More about the position

The position is dedicated to the Institute’s participation in the European space mission Euclid, and especially in Euclid’s Cosmological Simulations and Cosmological Theory Science Working Groups. The postdoctoral research fellow will, in coordination with the mentioned Euclid Science Working Groups study the evolution of non-linear structures in the universe in cosmological models with Modified Gravity, massive neutrinos, baryonic physics and non-gaussian initial conditions, to determine degeneracies between the physical parameters and to forecast how Euclid data best can give constraints on the models.

Previous experience with cosmological simulations, especially for cosmological models with Modified Gravity and/or non-gaussian initial conditions is considered highly beneficial for this position, as are strong computing and programming skills. A generous personal travel/expenses grant of 50 kNOK is available per year. The Institute also has access to world-class computing facilities, both in-house and on-campus, that are directly available to the candidate.
