The position
UiT The Arctic University of Norway have a vacant permanent position, 80%, as a Project coordinator. If funding becomes available the position will be a 100% .The position is affiliated with the Research group Ultrasound, Microwave and Optics which is located at the Department of Physics and Technology. The position is organizationally affiliated at the Faculty of Science and Technology. The position will support, and is funded by multiple projects on microscopy and nanoscopy, funded by the Research Council of Norway, EU and others.
The workplace is UiT in Tromsø.
You must be able to start in the position in Tromsø within a reasonable time, within 6 months after receiving the offer.
Job description
The main task of a project coordinator is to handle administrative tasks for the project managers and team members.
This includes:
Support with coordination and work management of the administrative services related to the projects, including planning and monitoring the daily progress of projects
Support with recruitment and follow-up of staff and guests in the projects and research group
Planning various events, workshops, conferences and organize project logistic
Provide detailed updates to project management and assist with reporting to stakeholders
Coordinate website updates, news, and blog, and other popular science dissemination
Support in proposal processes for new research projects, including to be informed about announcements, deadlines and requirements
Assist the Department of Physics and Technology with local services like mail distribution, shipping and receiving mail/parcels for the research groups UMO and renewable energy
Tasks may be added, changed or altered as part of the development of the organization.

Education from a university at least master level education from a university or college (preferably PhD level).
Experience from administrative / research administrative work and coordinating projects with international consortia are required.
Real competence with relevance to the specific tasks can replace the educational requirement.
Essential skills:
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Norwegian1 are required. If Norwegian skill are not at levelB2, it must be achieved within 2-years.
Organization and time management
Proficient computer skills: relevant tools, on-line reporting and meetings
Problem solving: ability to work and solve problems independently
Positive attitude: ability to handle the stress of unexpected challenges and also helps the team stay positive and motivated.
Experience with and interest in research particularly in Optics and Photonics and research administration
Preferable qualifications:
experience with mobility projects, which include admiration and assisting with paper-work related to travel, visa, reimbursements, stipends, etc.
experience with organizing digital and hybrid international events that include formal, scientific, and social components to be conducted across different nations simultaneously
experience with coordinating/administering EU as well as RCN projects, including experience of project reporting on online portals of EU and RCN
have experience with exchanging information with Norwegian research networks, such as Digital Life Norway, for example for popular science dissemination
The successful candidate must be willing to get involved in the ongoing development of their department and the university as a whole.

Remuneration of project coordinators positions are in salary code 1113 on the pay scale for Norwegian state employees. There is a 2% deduction for contribution to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.
