Job description

The Department of Psychology has available two part time positions (50 %) as University Lecturer in Developmental Psychology at the Section for Health-, Developmental- and Personality Psychology (HUP).

The section covers basic and applied research and teaching for the Bachelor, Master, clinical training program and PhD programs in health, developmental and personality psychology (including health promotion and prevention psychology). It has around 50 permanent and non-permanent staff. The Section’s Developmental Psychology Unit includes half a dozen of permanent academic staff and several Ph.D. and Post-Doc fellows. Gender balance among the staff is one of the priorities of the Section.

The positions requires high level of competence in teaching mainly in development psychology. The appointees will have to contribute to the section’s teaching, supervising and examination mainly in developmental psychology (basic or applied) at the bachelor, master and clinical training program with a special focus on infant, children, adolescent, and/or social development.

The positions are teaching positions. Possibilities for professional development can be facilitated.The appointments are made on condition that changes to the subject area and tasks may be determined by the employer.

The evaluation of the applicants will be based on their educational background, teaching experience diversity, research record, work experience with infants, children or adolescents, personal suitability and motivation. Achievements will be weighed against career stage, and adjusted for parental leaves.

Absolute requirements

• Applicants must hold a degree equivalent to a Norwegian Master degree / Clinical study degree in psychology, with documented proficiency in developmental psychology or equivalent.
• Applicants must demonstrate teaching competence related to developmental psychology or equivalent.
• Applicants must be able to fill in the relevant teaching obligations at the Section.
• Applicants must have a fluent proficiency in oral and written Norwegian (or another Scandinavian language).
• Applicants must be able to work both independently and to cooperate with others, and be highly motivated.

Top-priority qualifications

• University pedagogy skills and diversity in teaching experiences (forms and levels) would be a great advantage.
• Plans and ambitions for conducting high quality teaching activities would be a great advantage.
• Documented activity in conducting research with infants, children or adolescents would be a great advantage.
• Good skills in English would be a great advantage.

Other, desired qualifications

• PhD degree in developmental psychology or equivalent would be an asset.
• Willingness to participate in the Department´s activities in education, research, dissemination, and administration at all levels would be an asset.
