GAMUT – The Grieg Academy Music Therapy Research Centre, a research group within NORCE Norwegian Research Centre and a twin centre with the University of Bergen, conducts national and international multi-centre randomised controlled trials of music interventions in a wide range of clinical areas, ranging from premature infants and their parents to older adults with dementia and depression. To support the high-quality conduct of these trials, GAMUT is looking for a researcher with responsibility for clinical trial management from the earliest possible date, preferably from January 2019.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Managing national and international multi-centre trials of complex interventions in mental health, including but not limited to: data quality auditing; working with clinical site investigators concerning electronic data capture (EDC) according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines; development and maintenance of documents supporting high-quality trial conduct; and support of local team members responsible for EDC database development and statistical analysis. Possible additional supportive tasks related to clinical trials include grant writing, development of collaboration agreements, correspondence with funding agencies and ethics committees, and analysis and publication of trial results, all in close collaboration with the existing team.

Necessary qualifications:

  • MSc or equivalent degree in natural sciences, mathematics, psychology, or other relevant field;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Very good written and spoken English and Norwegian/Scandinavian;
  • Excellent computer skills (office software).

Desirable qualifications:

  • PhD degree in a relevant area;
  • Statistical analysis and programming skills, ideally in R;
  • Experience in clinical trial management;
  • Knowledge of EDC systems and GCP principles.

The successful candidate will be offered employment as Researcher for one year initially, with possibility for prolongation. Salary will be decided by agreement.
