The announced project aims developmental and functional characterization of different photoreceptors in the larva of the annelid Malacoceros fuliginosus and studies on the role of pioneer neurons in the development of annelid nervous systems. The experimental approaches include gene expression studies and pharmacological experiments perturbing the nervous system development. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the further development of the project in line with his/her interests.
