School of Business has a vacancy for 1-2 positions as Postdoctoral Fellow in Marketing and/or Management for 2 years from 01.01.2019, with possible extention of 6-12 months.

The position is associated with the Department of Business, Strategy and Political Science and reports to the Head of Department. The location of employment is Campus Drammen.

University of South-Eastern Norway

University of South-Eastern Norway has about 18 000 students and about 1500 employees. The university is organized in four faculties, with instruction and R&D activities on eight campuses. The main profile of the university is to provide socially relevant education, geared towards specific professions, and adapted to the requirements of the workplace, as well as to produce applied research and development.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a Norwegian doctorate or equivalent education abroad in marketing or management, or a field relevant to these. The applicant must have gained the degree within the application deadline. Candidates should provide proof of outstanding research productivity and good teaching ability.

The candidate must be motivated to share his or her knowledge and cooperate with faculty staff, and personal suitability for the position will be emphasized.

Information about the position

The research aim of USN School of Business is to produce high-level research suitable for publication in leading academic journals (AJG 4), which addresses research issues important to business practice for tomorrow’s marketplaces.

The School has a new research program (2018-2021), entitled “Managing Sustainable Innovation through Co-Creation,” tomorrow’s marketplaces and organizations to achieve measurable social, environmental, and financial outcomes. Applicants that work in areas related to this research program are preferred and will be part of this commitment.

The appointment is for a term of 2 years with extention possibilities, and teaching load is 20% per year, equivalent to one full course per year. The position may be assigned teaching at all levels in the Department’s programmes. The position may also be assigned teaching at other departments within University of South-Eastern Norway.

The successful applicant is expected to be actively engaged in marketing and/or management and contribute to the development of national and international networks. The person will be responsible for research, research leadership and guidance in strategic areas of the University’s network of researchers.

Salary

The position as postdoctoral fellow (postdoktor) (code 1352): NOK 515.200 – 658.300 a year, depending on seniority. In special cases, higher salary may be considered. A statutory contribution will be made from the employee’s salary to the state pension plan.

Additional information

The Academic Appointments Board is responsible for appointments to academic positions at University of South-Eastern Norway. An expert assessment of applicants will be carried out. Short-listed candidates will be called in for interviews and must be prepared to present and discuss their projects.
