RISE PFI is an internationally acknowledged research institute within processes and products based on lignocellulose. The institute’s focus areas are Biorefining and bioenergy, Fibre technology and applications, Nanocellulose and carbohydrate polymers, and Biocomposites. The institute is localized in Trondheim, Norway, and cooperates closely with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). RISE PFI AS is part of the Swedish research institute RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden AB). Altogether, RISE counts with 2200 employees in 6 divisions, where RISE PFI is part of the RISE Bioeconomy division.

Research scientist, Advanced biobased materials / Biorefinery processes

Would you like to join us in developing the biobased materials, energy carriers and chemicals of the future?

We are strengthening our efforts within new biobased materials and biorefinery processes, and are looking for a research scientist with interest in contributing to further developing these areas.
Important areas of responsibility include:

  • Project management and project participation
  • Establishing new projects and building networks
  • Contribute to further development of RISE PFI’s expertise

We are looking for a colleague with documented research qualifications at PhD-level, strong technical interest and good cooperation skills. Relevant background includes organic chemistry, wood chemistry, polymer chemistry and material science. Candidates with other relevant background are also encouraged to apply. Good networking capabilities and business understanding are important for the position.
